Page Nine – Privacy policy

Last updated 5 November 2026

Page Nine is run by 2764211 Alberta Inc. ("Page Nine", "we", "us"), 157 Covehaven Gardens NE, Calgary, Alberta T3K 6A2, Canada. This policy explains what information we collect through the Page Nine app and website (pagenine.ca), why, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it.

The short version: you can browse Page Nine without telling us anything. We only collect information from people who sign up for the Letter or list themselves, plus anonymous counts and basic crash reports to keep the app working. We don't sell information, show ads or track you across other apps and websites.

1. If you're browsing

  • No account. You don't need an account to browse, search or save people.
  • Your saves stay on your phone. The people you save are stored only on your device. We never receive them. If you delete the app, they're gone. Your choice of compact or photo view is stored the same way.
  • Anonymous counts. When someone's page is opened, when Contact, email, Instagram, TikTok, a website or a phone number is tapped, and when a page is shared, we count it against that person's page, with the date and (for Contact) which link was tapped. We don't record who you are, your device, your location or your IP address. We use these counts to tell each listed person, privately, how many people found them, and to understand how Page Nine is used.
  • Searches that find nothing. When a search finds no one, we record the words searched and the date, so we know what people are looking for. We don't record who searched or anything about your device.
  • Crash reports. If the app crashes, we receive a report about the crash: the app version, the type of phone and its software version, and what went wrong. It doesn't include your name or contact details.
  • Contacting someone. When you tap email, Instagram, TikTok or a website on someone's page, your phone opens that app or site. Emails start with the subject "Found you on Page Nine", which you can change. Anything you send goes directly to them, not through us.
  • Share links. If someone shares a page with you, the link (pagenine.ca/p/[name]) opens the page in the app, or shows a small card with the person's name, kind of work and main photo if you don't have the app. Opening a link doesn't tell us who you are.

2. If you sign up for the Letter

We collect your email address, the date you signed up, and where you signed up (app or website). We use it only to send you the Letter, our monthly email. Every Letter has a one-click unsubscribe link. After you unsubscribe we keep a record of your consent and unsubscribe date for three years, as Canada's anti-spam law expects, and then delete it.

3. If you list yourself on Page Nine

What we collect

  • About you: your business or studio name, your own name, email, phone number (optional), neighbourhood and city.
  • Your page: your niche and kinds of work, photos, your one line and description, what you take on, starting prices, and the links you choose to share (email, Instagram, TikTok, website).
  • In your words (optional): your answers to the three short questions, and studio photos if you add them.
  • Your agreement: the date you agreed to the listing agreement and confirmed you have the right to share your photos.
  • Membership: your membership status, plan and renewal date. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us.
  • Logging in: we email you a link to log in. We keep a record of your login, not a password.
  • Our notes: notes we make when reading your entry, and any messages between us.
  • Your page's counts: the anonymous counts described in section 1 (opens, Contact taps, shares). We send you a monthly summary. The counts never include who the visitors were.

What's public Once your page is live, these are public: your business or studio name, photos, one line and description, your "In their words" answers (if you gave any), niche and kinds of work, neighbourhood, prices, what you take on, and the links you chose to share. They show in the app, on the small share card at pagenine.ca/p/[your name] (name, kind of work and main photo only), and anywhere someone shares your link. We may also show your page in the Letter and on Page Nine's social media.

What stays private: your own name, your phone number, your page's counts, and anything you haven't chosen to show. We never show a home address.

Why we use it To review your entry, show your page, manage your membership, contact you about your listing (including required emails like payment notices and your monthly numbers), and choose and write monthly features and collections.

4. Who helps us run Page Nine

We use trusted services to run Page Nine. They handle information only to provide their service to us:

  • Supabase: our database, logins, photo storage and the anonymous counts
  • Stripe: membership payments
  • Resend: sending the Letter and account emails
  • Sentry: crash reports
  • Apple and Google: delivering the app through their stores
  • Cloudflare Pages: hosting pagenine.ca

Some of these services store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws. We don't sell or rent information to anyone, and we don't share it with advertisers. We'd only disclose information if the law requires it.

Page Nine isn't meant for children. You must be 18 or older to list yourself or sign up for the Letter.

9. Canadian privacy law

Page Nine is based in Alberta. We handle personal information under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), as they apply.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll tell you in the app, by email (if you're listed) or on our website.
