Listing rules
The people you won't find on page one. Page Nine is a directory for being found in your city. It's for people doing independent work in Calgary who don't have a storefront, or who don't want to live on Reels and TikTok to be noticed.
We check fit, not taste. Being listed isn't an award, and nobody is ranked.
Who can list
- You're an independent: one person or a small team, working under your own name or studio.
- You're 18 or older.
- You do the work yourself: you make it, cook it, find and restore it, shoot it or perform it. Curators and resellers are welcome when you choose, fix up or style what you sell.
- You're in Calgary, whether that's a home studio, a market table, pop-ups or private bookings.
- You follow the rules of your trade, like food permits or tattoo health inspections.
What isn't a fit
- Chains, franchises and businesses with a storefront
- Drop-shipping and mass-produced stock
- Multi-level marketing, get-rich courses, selling followers or crypto
- Anything illegal, unsafe, hateful or sexual, or work copied from someone else
Your page
- Five photos, with your best first. Natural light, your actual work, no logos or heavy filters. Photos you've already posted on Instagram are fine. No stock photos, and anyone in them has agreed to be shown.
- A one-line description, up to 400 characters in your own words and a real starting price. Write it your way: links, emoji and personality are welcome.
- Optional: three short answers that show on your page as "In their words".
How it works
- We read every entry to make sure it's a real person doing real work in Calgary, and we reply within two weeks.
- If something isn't a fit yet, we'll tell you what to change. You can send it again any time.
- Each month we email you how many people opened your page and tapped Contact. Counts only, never who, and never public.
- Changes to your page go live straight away. If something breaks these rules, we'll email you, and we may pause your page until it's fixed.
Features and collections
Each month we feature one person and put together a small collection of people across niches. Anyone listed can be included, and people who answer the optional "In your words" questions come first for the feature. We move through the niches and rotate who's included, and nobody is featured twice in a year. A pick tells a story; it isn't a ranking. Features and collections are never paid for.
The full terms are in the listing agreement. Questions? [email protected]
